Hannah Schwartz talks about living without life insurance.

By McKenzy Bowers | March 5, 2016

Hannah Schwartz was only 10 years old when her mother passed away. In the middle of this tragedy, the family lost their life insurance. To find out what happened next, read on.

As the John Lennon song goes, “Life is what happens to you while you’re busy making other plans.” Sometimes the things in life we worry about the most end up not amounting to a hill of beans. Conversely, there are things that are not on our radar screen that can have repercussions we never saw coming. Take life insurance. Let’s face it, most of us don’t like to think about life insurance. But it’s one of those things that can be a lifesaver. Life insurance is one of the most important parts of a family’s overall financial plan. Those who have life insurance know how important it can be. And those who don’t, wish they had. Just ask Hannah Schwartz.

Hannah’s mom, Laura, unexpectedly passed away when she was just ten years old. And to make matters worse, her dad had lost his life insurance when he changed jobs before Laura got ill. So when she died, the family didn’t have that additional financial resource to help them move on with their lives. And what happened to Hannah and her dad is not unique.
