Whether you suffer from sleep apnea or are a suffering partner – you’re all too familiar with how this disorder plays out. Aside from the snoring, eye-luggage, and morning headache, there are other complications that arise from sleep apnea. As a matter of fact, the Mayo Clinic says complications from sleep apnea can include high blood pressure, heart problems, type 2 diabetes, metabolic syndrome, and sleep-deprived partners. They seriously listed the last one. No joke.
The reality is you’re here to protect those you love (and the one person who spends late nights worrying about you). Watch, or read, our video below and learn how you get life insurance coverage with sleep apnea.
With sleep apnea, offers are very definitely possible. A most recent sleep study…once…whether we’re talking mild sleep apnea are severe sleep apnea this can make a difference in offers. If you’re on a CPAP machine, the most important thing when using a CPAP is that you are compliant – that you use it every night – you sleep with the machine on a religious basis – this will make a difference in terms of offers.
And I have seen preferred offers with sleep apnea – and again compliance is the issue here. When was the last sleep study? And just exactly how compliant are you with your machine?
Now some of the later machines can actually read out…there’s a card in some of the newer machines where you can – the card will literally track how much time you spend with it whether you’re using it daily. And some doctors will ask the patient to pull that card out and they give them a card reader and they can literally download it over the phone so the doctor knows exactly how much you’re using the machine and just exactly how compliant you are. And the more compliant you are the better the offer is going to be.
Despite the exhaustion, you’ve managed to focus on what’s important…family. Protecting those you love is always a good idea and a great way to stave off stressful sleepless nights.
