Say you’re a tourist visiting New York City. You go into any coffee shop or diner and order a bagel. I might have a slight bias, but I think life insurance is one of the most misunderstood products ever invented. And I also think life insurance gets a bad rap that it doesn’t deserve. Let me explain why.
Many of us remember the exhausting three-hour kitchen table talk fest that our parents went through with their local insurance agent when they bought their first family policy. It was just plain torture. I’ll admit, not a great first impression, for sure.

My rule of thumb is…if you have a negative view of life insurance…that’s probably because you don’t have any. Because if you did have a life policy, you’d know, firsthand, how valuable having coverage is for your family.
