I joined AccuQuote in 2018. As general counsel leading the legal and compliance departments, I also advise the company on a wide range of legal and business issues, including privacy and information security.
I am an accomplished general counsel combining practical private practice experience with more than 20 years experience as an in-house corporate attorney, providing legal support and counsel to executives, senior leadership teams, corporate managers, and front line employees with an emphasis on information technology (including HIPAA, HITECH, PCI, GDPR, and related privacy and data security matters), TCPA, insurance practice, compliance, general business transactions, and corporate governance.
My legal career began with a small litigation firm in southern Illinois. After moving to my first in-house counsel position as a vice president and managing attorney at LaSalle Bank, N.A. in Chicago, I was then associate general counsel and corporate secretary for Sears Holdings Corporation’s Home Services division, senior corporate counsel for global cybersecurity company Trustwave Holdings, and a private practice attorney and consultant for multiple pharmaceutical and medical device companies.
I’m also a former signals intelligence specialist and Korean linguist in U.S. Army Military Intelligence Corps, and a classically trained pianist. When not giving legal guidance or tapping the ivory, I spend my days with my wife, daughter and Chloe the Chow-Chow wonder dog near the north shore of Lake Michigan. During my free time, I enjoy bicycling, world travel, and playing piano and keyboards with the local symphony orchestra and several area bands.
