General Office Administrative Clerk


General Office employees are responsible for meeting the clerical and administrative needs of the office.


  • Receive, process, sort, and distribute inbound mail
  • Process outbound mail and maintain necessary postage levels
  • Process shipments and perform daily maintenance of shipping software
  • Responsible for contacting shipment vendors for package rerouting and return
  • Accountable for shipping live checks and life insurance documents to the carriers
  • Responsible for supporting the supplies department when necessary
  • Responsible for contacting vendors for printer and copier maintenance
  • Maintain physical internal client files
  • Scan and index inbound mail into appropriate client file
  • Responsible for prepping, scanning and re-sequencing incoming documents into the database to prompt work for various admin departments
  • Responsible for scanning, indexing documents and transmitting life insurance documents to the carriers
  • Perform quality control and maintain integrity of scanned life insurance documents
  • Responsible for receiving incoming faxes and e-mails to be scanned to the appropriate client file
  • Preparation of Life Insurance documents
  • Printing, preparing, data entering and mailing out life insurance applications to potential clients
  • Responsible for updating and maintaining live check report
  • Accountable for maintaining department daily service level and quality standards
  • Responsible for end of day tasks and duties including but not limited to the following:
    • Run end of day department reports and distribute to Team Leader
    • Maintain and upkeep of department order
    • Responsible for placing outbound mail to proper drop off locations
    • Sending life insurance documents to life insurance companies via Fed Ex, UPS, USPS, etc.
  • Research and resolve problems as they arise through the use of various resources
  • Attend all required training sessions and meetings
  • Ambitiously assists with the completion of work from other departments as required
  • Complete various projects as assigned by Team Leader
  • Additional duties may be assigned


  • General education degree (GED) or High School diploma required
  • One year of general office related experience and/or training preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Prior applicable experience will include: filing, mail sorting/distribution, data entry, copying, scanning, faxing, etc.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proven ability and willingness to support team to accomplish team goals
  • Agile in handling multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines
  • Must have basic proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel), Adobe Acrobat
  • Ability to navigate and utilize internet
  • Aptitude to learn new software and adapt to CRM quickly
  • Proficiency with office equipment including copiers, fax machine, telephone systems and imaging systems

The hours for this role will be 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
